    Check the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs feature for 'Active Alert' and 'Internet Optimizer'. If these entries are there, using both should result in InternetOptimizer's correct removal.

    if you dont see either of those in there,
    download, install and run Ad-aware SE Personal from www.lavasoftusa.com

    that should take care of it

    both are on the add/remove list

    shall i remove both of them?

    i think i found how to just disable it but when i disable it and press update, it just goes back to enabled.

    Im on a limited account aswell
