    Hello Everyone,

I have had several people ask what the attachment to my email was....I hadn't attached anything...so I didn't know either. This is the message on their email:
    attachmentpart2applications/ms-tnefname=winmail.dat.
Might as well be greek to me! Any ideas...Thanks, Dee

Sounds like a virus or trogan got in your computer.
Do you have an antivirus program? Which one? Is it updated?
Try going to Start > Find > Files or Folders.
Under named file, type in "wink*.exe" without the quotes. In the Look In box, select your C:local harddrive and click find now.
If you find you, let us know, it's probably klez h..
It did the same thing to a friends computer recently.

;) Derek.....I followed your link and even followed their instructions....and sure enough I was sending my email in rich text. I made the adjustments and we'll see what happens. In reading the info...it seems that some receiving servers strip winmail.dat attachments from incoming emails.....that would explain the seemingly randomness of it all. Thanks
Del....I am going to do the virus checks you recommended as well and see what I can turn up...hopefully nothing....or Norton is fired!
Thanks to you both, I consider this case closed....Dee

I'm hoping Derek is right and you don't have a virus. Was simply a guess on my part if you didn't try to send an attachment.
