ever since i installed winxp pro, my comp has been crashing on random lapses of time. it may crash inmediately after windows loads, or it can take hours. sometimes it crashes when i open a program or something. the message i get with the crash is (not exactly, but similar):

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_ Stop: 0x0000000A (0x774e6354,0x00000002,0x804eBR214,0x00000000)

i have formatted my hd multiple times, and installed and re-installed windows, yet the problem doesn't seem to go away. so i was wondering, anyone knows what is causing this problem and if there is a way to fix it?

Welcome to TSG, disi; these are tough issues to resolve, but are likely due to some hardware incompatibility. I'd start by reviewing and following up as much as possible on the information and suggestions here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/reskit/prmd_stp_hwpg.asp?frame=true

    http://www.microsoft.com/hwdq/hcl/

Make sure you have the latest drivers for all your hardware; especially Video drivers; and check with the compatibility list Microsoft provides.

To verify whether it is a software problem, try running msconfig and disabling the startup group.
