Whenever I start up any full-screen game, it is immediately minimized. I tab back into it, and it's minimized again, and again, and again. Frantically clicking the black screen as stuff renders is the only way I can get the game to stay up on screen. This all doesn't happen every time, but once it happens it does at least 3 times in a row.

Avira says my PC is virus free, Task Manager doesn't show anything suspicious, and I haven't installed anything new once this stuff started happening.

I have a hunch what might be the problem:
I have no idea what the selected process is, but I sometimes catch a glimpse of this doing something while a game is starting up. It's nothing new, though, it's always been there.

I'm running an HP Pavilion dv6 notebook, 2ghz Pentium dual-core, 3g RAM, Vista Home Premium, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530.
