I have a 20GB HDD currently partitioned into two. Would want to merge it into a single one. How do I do it assumming both partitions are empty ie no files. I'm running on XP Home. Thanks!

Don't know if XP disk management offers any alternatives, but I'd just delete both partitions and create 1 new one the size of the drive.

i always have a floppy boot with an fdisk handy. for your case, i'll boot from floppy, run fdisk, choose hard drive (if multiple), verify partitions and delete partitions. it's important to verify partitions before delete to be sure that you're working on the correct hard drive.
