Just wondering if this is possible....

After weeding out prints from a shoot, I like to reorganize and re-number/-name the images in sequence. However, I've always done this one at a time and, when having to do this to hundreds of images, it gets very tedious and time consuming. Is there any way to "batch process" this?

For example: the sequence may run from say "AB001" to "AB341". Doing this one image at a time takes a long time.

Yes, I know I can do this as soon as I d/l the images from my camera. But is there a way to do this AFTER the bad shots are weeded out or if I have to categorize them into 3 or 4 different groups?

Would be great if this were possible, but I don't know of any photographer that knows how to do this.

Any ideas?

Thanks.)

That's not the only image renaming program available - check out Majorgeeks online, they probably have a couple of freeware tools that will also do that. Anyway, there is more than one option available if you check around.

Thanx guys! I appreciate all the info. Ended up settling for PhotoScape because it's incredibly simple for batch renaming/numbering photos. PFrank seemed pretty complicated although it looked like a decent program. Too much for this "I can only spare a few brain cells at a time after working 2 jobs" person. LOL.

Thanks again people! Have a great weekend!
