Hello all,
I need a free app that will compress a c drive on a laptop. I need to shrink the OS and assorted other stuff on the primary partition. The apps are on a separate partition with lots of room., so I dont need compression there.

It needs to be on the fly compression with little or no burden attached. I dont want to waste a lot of resources doing it, and I need to have seemless in and out of the compresed files. This is an XP ProSP2 NTFS OS.

Can a anyone advise. I had an app sometime back and havent been abe to find it again.
TIA,

There is nothing that can do that if you still want to be able to run the OS. Are you talking about shrinking the partition itself, or the actual OS? The OS is the size that it is. You can use NTFS compression by right-clicking the drive, but that will only give you a few percent at the expense of system speed.
