    Hi all,

I have a site [a subdomain] listed with 50webs.com - a free internet hosting place.
i was wondering if someone could give me step-by-step instructions on how to install a .htaccess and .htpasswd

    Thanks Guys,

    Deon

Well, first you need to find out if 50webs allows .htaccess files. Not all webhosts do (most paid hosts do, but not all. And considering it's a free host, probably not).

Just create a file called ".htaccess" and upload it to your ROOT directory. That's it, once uploaded the code in that file takes action (if allowed to run by the webhost)
