I have Readiris Pro 12 OCR software, which does a good job recognizing clear text.
I also have an HP Photosmart all-in-one printer/scanner/copier/fax connected by Wi-Fi to my home network, which does a good job scanning.
Now I'd like for them to work together.
The problem is that RIP 12 does not do well on wireless networks. So I scan a page, save it as a .pdf file consisting of just the image; then go into RIP and select Open file. It opens the file, OCRs the image and gives me a .pdf with the text.
So I went to RIP tech support and got the following intriguing reply: "Our software does not work well with wireless. But some customers have been able to get it to work themselves." Then it described how to configure a scanner--I already tried that, and nowhere did it let me enter the IP address of the scanner--
SO: are any of you guys among those who "have been able to get it to work?" If so, How did you do it?
Thanks,
Al
