    Hello,

If I insert a CD or DVD in my CD/DVD player on my laptop, using Real Player, I get perfect video and audio.
When I change the option to Windows Media player I only get video - no sound. Can anyone tell me what settings need to be changed to get sound from Media Player?
Does Real Player have anything to do with this problem?

    Thanks,
    Jeff B

What version of Windows Media Player do you have?? 9.0? If you have an older version of WMP that came with your computer, you may need to update codecs...

My OS is XP Pro and it looks like it's WMP version 10. It has worked up until a week ago?
My IBM Thinkpad is a T30 and it's about 3years old.
    Thanks!

Checked sound under device manager, no yellow marks. Checked CD drives - "use digital audio" is checked.
Real player has great sound, WMP has no sound?
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    JB
