Hi!

I have a problem with my Realtek HD soundcard, and I hope you guys can help me out. It's no sound in my speakers (I have tried several different speakers), and in the playback menu, it rapidly shift between connected and not connected. Like it turns off and on on itself, maybe once per second.

When I open the Realtek HD Audio manager, it gives me rundll32 error and shuts down. Before this happened, the rear panel was listed as not working. I've tried updating to the latest drivers, but it doesn't fix it. When I try to uninstall the drivers to install fresh, the uninstaller just loads and loads, and I have to shut it down.

I'm on vista 64 bit.

Looks like a hardware problem at first glance. You can try placing your soundcard into a different slot and see if that makes a difference.

Or it may be that the speaker plug/jack is defective. For that, you'd have to return the sound card and get a new one.

When you run the Audio Manager, does it give the rundll error everytime?
