Reboot and select proper boot device.

    For some reason, when I turned on my Eee netbook Win XP, it reads,
    "reboot and select proper boot device".

    I tried to read previous answers and have no idea what Bios and/or IDE means.
    My computer Asus read NOT to download the TSG SysInfo as advised above.

    go to bios then chose boot using arrow up and down to select boot. then press enter after you select boot. the select boot priority. then chose HDD by pressing arrow down to select the HDD then press enter to make it your default hdd to boot.

    see below link to get in bios set up.
