Recently plagued with a virus that occurred when I accepted an automatic update to Adobe Reader. Booted for a while, but with issues. Spyware Doctor installed but could not resolve the problem. After a few boots, it finally booted to the Blue Screen of death. If I try to boot in safe mode, windows appears to be starting normally, but never loads. Just runs and runs. The same thing happens when I try to boot from the Original Disk as well as the Emergency Rescue Disk (ERD) that I have from Microsoft. Originally thought the fat might have been compromised, but it should have loaded windows from the disks. Any suggestions will be appreciated, as I rely on the computer and really not in a position to replace it at this time. Most of the data has been routinely backed up, so I don't mind if I have to reformat, but I'll need to get Windows up and running to do that. HELP!!! I'm also posting this problem under virus forum in case someone is familiar with this recent virus and how it effects the machine.
