What is the best recommended browser? Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, or are there others.

I think it's mainly a matter of personal choice.

I've used IE for many years, but lately, a lot of sites aren't supporting IE8 anymore, which is the newest version Windows XP will accept.

I now run almost exclusively Firefox and it's my default browser.

However, Google Chrome is now quite popular and trendy.

You can find a lot of very useful and interesting add-ons for both Firefox and Google Chrome.

Both are secure browsers, as are recent versions of Internet Explorer.

I was looking for something that is less cluttered, more of icons that are necessary rather than things likke "celebrity, fun games, word of the day, etc.

What exactly are you referring to?

Are those toolbars, or ads?

What browser are you using right now?

I,m using IE8 right now. What I'm referring to are all those icons along the tool bar section, there are seven rows of them. Some are ads like "Virgin", Clean up your PC etc.

Holy crap, you have every ad-infested toolbar known to man. You probably got most by accepting default settings for installing programs (Java, for example, will install the Ask Toolbar).

My initial suggestion would be to uninstall all of them, but, you apparently seem to enjoy them.

Note that you can install multiple browsers on your system at the same time. I have IE, Firefox, Waterfox, Opera, Chrome, and Avant, for example. (I build web pages.).

7 rows!

1- Please click HERE to download HijackThis.

2- Run the program.

3- Click on the Main Menu button if not already there.

4- Select Do a system scan and save a logfile.

5- Copy and paste the scan log from Notepad into your next reply. Do not attach it.

6- Do not "Fix" anything unless advised to do so.

Enjoy them? Why do you think I'm complaining about all that unnecessary junk on my toolbar. Is there anyway to simply delete what I don't want instead of going to another browser all together which may give the same type of crap.

Yes, there is.

HijackThis will show us what you have first.
