I installed PHP onto my freebsd 4.11 server using the pkg_add method.

It installed
mod_php5-5.0.0.a6,1

Which is ok...but it doesn't have mysql support configured...

...how do I reconfigure php to have mysql support? Or must I reinstall from source?

If it's a build time paramater, then yes. That's what you'll need to determine.

I don't know, but in debian there is an additional package called php4-mysql that you install that sets that up. Maybe you just need to find another package in your freebsd setup.
