recovering a deleted user account

    Please help - i deleted a user account that i need! i tried system recovery but it can only recover today, which is no help. please walk me through the recovery process if there is one - i am (obviously ;) not so great with this stuff

    1.Start
    2.Settings > Control Panel > User Accounts > Create a new account or (Change an account)

    thank you - however, while this allows me to set up a new account, i still cannot access my old user account and settings. any suggestions?

    . .but it might not be gone. Did you check the "delete files for this user" when you deleted the account? . . if not, use Windows Explorer to see if you can find them, if so, you may be able to copy them to the new user

    Not sure what your after.You could make a user account in the same name and possibly import the old files but any files encrypted under the old user name will be unredable as you will have deleted the key when you deleted the account.
