    Hi Lori.

    Try this:

Download the attached Recycled.txt, save as (rename to) Recycled.reg.

Doubleclick the file, then answer 'yes' to the prompt to merge the data into the registry.
Subsequenly reboot, and tell us whether your Recycle Bin is back.

    Tony,

I just downloaded the recycle.reg file and all it asked me was if I was sure I wanted to add this file to my registry. I clicked yes and it said it was saved to registry but I don't have a recycle bin yet and clicking on that registry.reg icon just does the same thing.

That sounds like you did exactly what you needed to do.

Here's a new regfile. Delete the old one, and save this one as Recycled.reg once again.

Doubleclick the regfile, have the contents added to the Registry like you did before and reboot again.

    Tony,

Thank you...it worked! Wow do I have a LOT of files in my recycle bin. I guess because I couldnt empty it since I didnt have it there! One more question....in the recycle bin I see a lot of files that I had saved to my documents and they for some reason would never show up as being saved in my documents. I now see that they must've went straight to the recycle bin....do you know why this would be happening?

Thanks so much for your help :)

    Lori

Good to hear you've got your Recycle Bin back again. :)

About your other problem, that sounds strange indeed.
I don't know what could cause that to happen, to be frank.
