Rediredcting a URL

I copied the contents in the folder and pasted them into the root directory and then modified the index file.

did this solve the problem or not? moving it to the root directory i mean (it should have done) if it did not work try changing the point that your url links too, change it so it is like this

path of root/folder/

this should also remove the problem and allow you to host other sites as well.
