i just reformatted and installed xp home sp2 on this laptop. Now i can't seem to connect to the home network. It isn't seeing anything I think. I did ipconfig /all and all I get is "Windows Ip Configuration", I'm not getting any info.

This laptop has a network card in it and it was connected to the internet before i reformatted and installed xp. This is the first time I've reformatted this laptop since buying it, so I'm thinking its missing something?

Thanks

You will have to reinstall the drivers for the nic on your laptop. Hopefully you still have the original CD's ...

You should be able to download the drivers from the maker's website if you don't have them.

Either your drivers for the NIC are not installed, or you have your Windows firewall blocking everything. XP SP2 comes with the Windows firewall enabled by default.
