regedit disabled

    When I click on run and type in regedit a box pops up --regedit has been disabled by administrator. Is this normal.

    No, not if it's your computer and you haven't applied any restrictions yourself. It could be the result of a trojan infection, have you done an updated scan?

    To remove the restriction, download the unlock.reg file from the link below to your desktop. Double click it to run and confirm to merge to the registry. Then try regedit again.

    Thanks for the help.This just happened .don't knowwhat caused it , but it's working now thanks to you. I've learned so much on this site ,I'ts like taking a computer class bboop

    As Rog indicated, this could indicate a virus/trojan.
    Did you run a complete antivirus scan with updated definitions?
