Looking in my Regedit folders I noticed there are
10 different lines that contain a ? right after the c.

    example of one line
    c? \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\RTCRES.dll

I have only caught this under
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Components so far.

Should I just leave them there? I was going to remove
each one but decided I should check to make sure
it would be safe to do so.

and how did the ? end up in the path?

    Microsoft Windows 98 4.10.2222 A IE 5 6.0.2800.1106
    GenuineIntel Pentium(r) III Processor
    emachine Normal mode
    drive C:, drive D:. drive E:
