I have a pop up ad that shows up very often. It is for a Registry Cleaner. After it fills up half of my screen, it turns into a small grey window and starts dinging until I click NO. POW does not take care of it. Is there anything to stop this?

    Hi gatyamgal

Sorry, I don't know what POW is?

Try running a few online Anti-Virus scans from at least one and preferably 2 of the following sites
Allow them to clean/delete any spyware/malware or viruses/trojans they may find.
Make a note of any files flagged that were unable to be cleaned or deleted.

    Have you tried
    Ad-Aware SE 1.05
    Spybot-S&D (ver. 1.3)

Install Ad-Aware SE and Spybot-S&D and check each of them in turn for updates.

For Ad-Aware SE click on Full System Scan and deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
Let Ad-Aware SE remove what it finds.
Run Spybot-S&D and have it fix what it finds marked in Red.

After running your online virus scans and running Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D,
close all programs and reboot to complete the removal process.

Let us know if this takes care of the Pop-Up or not.

POW is a pop up blocker that is good, but sounds like u have malware. After doing what EAF said, if it continues

Then get HiJack This http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html, put
it in a permanent folder (C:\HJT) , run it , DO NOT fix anything, post the
    log here.
