I replaced the hard drive in my computer and have the recovery disc I created along with the product key, but the laptop will not install the OS. What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to TSG Cehenry.

Whats the exact make and model of your laptop? Did you install the hard drive? Did you set in the BIOS the DVD drive as first boot? As well, do you see the hard drive in the BIOS?

And some more questions ...

and have the recovery disc I created
"The recovery disc"? Recovery disc(s) for Windows 7 implies a set of three (or at least two) DVDs.

but the laptop will not install the OS
What exactly do you mean by that? "Recovery" implies imaging to factory defaults, not technically installing. What exactly do you do and what happens? Any error message?
