    Help.
I have a Sony K37 laptop. I want to erase my hard drive completely and install Windows XP from scratch. I have a legal copy of Windows on CD, but I can't get the computer to run it, to completely wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows.

I've reset the bios to Optical Drive, but it jumps right to the hd to start the installed copy.

I've tried to run it by access the drive, but I can't open it.

How do I get past this Sony trap and install it clean?
