You need to go to the computer manufacturer's website and download the necessary drivers for your model and operating system.

What is the make, model number of your computer. If it is a Dell please also include the 7 digit service tag number.
If you will post this information, we can be of more help to you,.

If its a dell laptop the service tag will be on the bottom. if its a dell tower it should be on the side, top, or back.for most brand name computers like dell, hp, lenovo, go to the website and look for support, drivers and downloads for your model of computer.

Someone needs to put a sticky up to alert people about the need for drivers when they reinstall an OS. I see at least 10 of these posts a day.

You made the mistake of reinstalling XP without first identifying the devices in your computer and having the XP drivers available for them.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

What's the brand name, model name, and model number of your computer?

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Right-click MY COMPUTER, then click Properties - Hardware - Device Manager, then click the + in

    Display Adapters

    Network Adapters

    Other Devices

    Sound Video And Game Controllers

What's listed in each of these headings?

If it's a Dell brand, it'll have a 7-character service tag number somewhere on the case.

Having that number allows us to access the Dell support site that's specific ONLY to that computer and makes it easier to identify its devices and obtain drivers for them.

    ---------------------------------------------------

Double-click these entries to open their properties window:

    Multimedia Audio Controller

    PCI Simple Communications Controller

    Video Controller(VGA Compatible)

Click the "Details" tab, then select "Hardware Id".

You should see a string that has VEN_####&DEV_#### as part of the string.

Advise what the numbers and letters are that follow VEN_ and DEV_.

Be careful not to make any typos because these vendor and device codes are what allow the devices to be identified.
