can I burn my programs onto CD and then install them back on to my hard drive after I have reformatted it, and reinstalled win. 98? Can someone tell me how to accomplish this?

    Welcome to TSG!

If you have the install program on the drive, IE... you downloaded freeware etc. Just burn that file to cd. If you are talking about preinstalled programs that you know longer have the install disk for-- No. Programs are registered in the registry when installed and cannot be copied and reinstalled.

Why are you going through such a drastic step by reformating your hard drive and starting from scratch? Is there a problem that this forum can help you with?
