My brother uninstalled (unknowingly at the time) Realtek off the computer to free some hard drive space. Now we have no sound on the computer, either through Itunes for example or the internet like Youtube.
I have seen that there is a problem through Device Manager with the audio as the icon for Multimedia Audio Controller has a little yellow question mark.
I have tried reinstalling but I dont know what to reinstall the appropriate programme from.
The Windows XP Home Edition disc I inserted is apparently out of date with my computer.
    Please help me!:( :S

What is the make and model of the machine?

Try right-clicking the device in Device Manager and allow it to search the internet for an update. Realtek drivers are very common and you may find one that way.

You could also try removing the device and rebooting to see if it gets reinstalled (depending what was deleted and whether the files are still on the machine).
