Problem started a few days ago when I turned on the power outlet (UK) to a extension socket hub, I used this socket hub to connect my PC and my monitor. The outlet when I turned it on started to make popping sounds, going from barely noticeable to a loud pop. But then the PC works fine without any problems or noises. My house sockets are relatively old, don't know exactly how old.

I got a brand new PC a month ago, parts came in 18/12/20, and my power supply unit is the ABKONCORE TN600W ( Amazon Link here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ABKONCORE-Certified-Friendly-Assurance-applications/dp/B08B8L24RG ), although it isn't well known in the west, it's a well known company in Korea and east Asia, so I wasn't worried of a bad product.

When I turned on the outlet today, it was the loudest it was ever been, and then my PSU started to have a popping/hissing electrical sound. I turned it off immediately. Then I switched the socket and switched the extension socket hub to another one and it stopped and it seems to be working currently, with no loud noises heard and since I am typing this on the PC.

I want to diagnose the problem and know what the next thing I should do next, should I use the warranty of the PSU or replace it? Or is it OK?

Current operations on the PC seem to be working as normal, and no abnormal sounds on PSU as of typing this.

Just realised that the socket may be arching and I was 'daisy chaining' the socket with maybe overloading the socket, sorry a bit new to this, just starting to learn some terminologies.

If the noise ie popping, arcing, etc is coming from the outlet, you need some electrical repairs.
Unless you are pretty well skilled in electrical repair, call an electrician.
My house sockets are relatively old, don't know exactly how old.
You may simply need a few new outlets/sockets OR you may need wiring replaced along with the sockets.

What should I do if the PSU was making a hissing and popping electrical noises, but isn't anymore?

OK, you need to be specific; where exactly is the noise originating; the pw supply OR the wall socket?

Both the PSU and the Wall socket were both making popping sounds.

The wall socket when I turned on the switch made a sound like it was arching. (Probably was)

The PSU was making hissing and popping sounds as well when they were both turned on.

I would say to have an electrician check the wiring to your power outlet first and ensure that there are no problems there. Then if you still have an issue when the power supply is plugged in, work on that.

Or, for a quick check...could you try plugging the power supply and the computer into a different outlet? Preferably one which is fed by a completely separate breaker?
