Remote Access Via Network

    Hiya,

    Ive just got a wireless router ( belkin ). I currently got desktop + laptop using the net. I want to remote access my desptop PC from my laptop. I have tried VNC etc, but cant get it to work.

    is there some step by step destructions to enable me to do this?

    Well, for one it is a weekend so you kind of have to be patient.

    What version of windows is running on each pc and what service pack level are they at?

    What VNC application did you use?

    Did you disable any firewalls that are running on the computers while trying to get communication with VNC?

    If you're using Windows XP Pro, you can use Remote Desktop. Or there are other 3rd party applications out there such as VNC or PC Anywhere.

    i swear by ultravnc, awesome program. make sure all firewalls are switched off when setting up.if you can ping the computer and the server for vnc is installed all should be well
