    Hi, Newbie Here,
    I downloaded a program file the other day and then found that it is not in good shape.
    I use Internet Explorer 6, and found the following:

    Internet Options
    General Tab
    Temp Int Files
    Settings
    View Objects
    C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files
    ImageControl Class
    Status: Damaged
    Size 196 KB
    I Right-Clicked
    I "updated" and nothing happened.
    Properties

    General Tab
    Type ActiveX Control
    ID
    Status: Damaged
    Code Base: http://content.ancestry.com/asfiles/install/??
    [?? is mine, can't read the rest.]

    Dependency Tab:
    This page listed the 12 file(s) and ) Java packages upon
    which ImageControl Class depends.
    File name:
    C:\WINDOWS\DOWNLOA...\SET.INF* 4,096 bytes
    C:\WINDOWS\SYS...\MFIMGVWR.OCX* 196,608 bytes
    C:\WINDOWS\SYST..\LFCMP13N.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYST...\LTKRN13N.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYST...\LFFAX13N.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTE...\LFJ2K13N.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTE...\LFTIF13N.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTE...\LTCLR13n.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTE...\LTDIS13N.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTE...LTEFX13N.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTE...\LTFIL13N.DLL* Damaged
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTE...\LTIMG13N.DLL* Damaged

    Version Tab
    Version: 1.0.0.45
    Description Advanced Image Viewer 2.1
    Company MyFamily.com Inc.
    Language English (United States)
    Copyright Copyright 2002 MyFamily.com, Inc.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    My Question: I have the option to remove the program, but am leery of doing that as I do not know if the DLLs are used by other programs in XP. What do you think?
    Thanks, Huckleberry
    That ActiveX control is only used by MyFamily.com, as far as I could tell, just delete it and go back if you want to get it agian.
