How to remove the virus peak protection 2010? I tried removing it by going to normal mode and safe mode but none of them worked. I also tried last known good configuration, but it didnt work. Please let me know if there is a solution to remove this virus other than clean installation..

Anon B is not qualified to assist with this infection.

Download and run the following tool to help allow other programs to run. (Courtesy of BleepingComputer.com)
There are 4 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one. Do not reboot after running this program. If you can't download it to the infected computer you can put it on a CD or USB drive and transfer it over.

Vista and Win7 users need to right click and choose Run as Admin
You only need to get one of them to run, not all of them.
  1. rkill.exe
  2. rkill.com
  3. rkill.scr
  4. rkill.pif

Then do this:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart. (See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

as well as this:

Please download DDS by sUBs to your desktop from one of the following locations:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr
http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds

Disable any script blocker you may have as they may interfere and then double-click the DDS.scr to run the tool.

When DDS has finished scanning, it will open two logs named as follows:

DDS.txt
Attach.txt

Save them both to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents of the DDS.txt and Attach.txt files in your reply please.

I have already mentioned that I had already escalated this issue before when I was unable to find a solution. This is not a problem with my computer. I am sorry. I am unable to send the logs as I had already transferred the case. However I wanted to know the solution. Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,

Avantika

I have no idea what you're talking about. What do you mean you escalated it and transferred the case? To whom?

We don't post self-help articles for malware problems and we're not here to help with your business. We provide assistance to individuals who need it based on their given situation.

I hope it's clear now.
