Here's one I found on the Internet. You can hide the Spinning globe also known as the throbber in the top right of both the Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer Toolbars. Go to this link:

Click on Hide The Windows98/IE"Throbber" to get to the section you need.
Download the reg files. They work. I tried them. I run Win98 SE and IE 6
They come with the undo too. Nothing's permanent.
Other hacks offer you the chance to change the throbber. This removes it entirely. After you apply it, all your other toolbars wil disappear. Right click and recheck them to bring back your toolbar buttons, address bar etc.
