I have a dual boot W98SE and XP-SP1 respectively on C : and D :. I would like to get rid of W98 and then get XP onto C:

I plan to remove all programs under W98, then boot under XP and delete all W98 files remaining in C: except boot.ini, ntdetect.com and ntldr.

Is it practically feasible to get XP onto C:?

The easiest way is to back up the data, boot to the XP CD and delete all partitions, then create the one(s) you want and reinstall XP. Do it all in a couple of hours

Right, but then you also have to reinstall all the programs: Office, Firewall, Antivirus, Anti-Spyware and all the rest of them. I would have liked to avoid all that
