I am a transcriptionist and receive audio through a program. I do not actually download the audio, nor do I have a copy of it. So my question, is there a program or a device that I can use to remove background noise and bring out the actual voice while listening to the audio?

Again, I do not have access to the audio file itself. I use Boostaroo to bring up the volume, but would still like to be able to remove background noise so I can hear the voice. The equalizer does not help either.

    Thank you for any advice.

Depends on the noise ... Is it repetitive like hum or random noise ??
You'd also need a copy of the file.

Audacity can remove anything it can sample ..
Like repetitive noise in a quiet portion of the audio.

Audacity can also record anything your computer can play.
