I'm trying to help a friend who really messed up him PC! I need to copy files from his old PC to a CD, but I can't get the software (Nero) to launch.

His old PC came with Nero, but he couldn't find it in his Program files. He went on the internet and downloaded a demo version of Nero 6.0 (a driver for his CD ROM)... I could only find empty folders which I have now renamed so it won't keep poping up when you try to launch the other. The demo has expired so it wouldn't launch. I have the original Nero CD, but I can't install it because it sees the older version and tries to uninstall, but it can't complete the task. How can I overcome this problem?

    Thanks!

Have you tried "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel?
