Anyone know how to remove and reinstall Activation for Windows XP - I have seen a guide on what to do, but I now cannot find it anywhere.

Problem: Windows XP Activation does not load after running Windows Repair - no errors, nothing happens when trying to run MSOOBE.exe

    Thanks

What happens when you go to Windows Update?

Are you using the /a switch?
Start | Run, type %SystemRoot%\System32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a, press Enter.
If you don't include the /a switch, or are just double clicking the file, nothing will happen.

Check the Event Viewer (Start | Run, eventvwr.msc) for any errors related to msoobe, probably in the Application log.

If you had IE7 or IE8 installed, you may want to uninstall/re-install. Doing a repair may have replaced some (but not all) files with the IE6 versions. msoobe depends on the core IE files to run so a glitch there could keep it from running.
You can uninstall from Add/Remove programs, or navigate to WINDOWS\IEX\spuninst and double click on spuninst.exe.
You can download IE from here:

Windows Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP
Windows Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP

Re-installing with out first uninstalling may work as well.
