"Repair this drive"

When powering up an external HDD on my Win10 desktop, I got a notification to scan and repair the drive, which I ignored. The HDD contains known corrupt files which I have to keep for reference only (long story for another time). Other than that, the HDD works fine.

The HDD's Properties>Tools>Error checking shows:

"Repair this drive"
"We found errors on this drive. To prevent data loss, repair this drive now."

How can I find out what errors were found? If the errors were due to the corrupt files, I would not repair them. But if there were other errors, I would be concerned.

Thanks.

After moving the corrupted files from the drive, still getting "Repair this drive". Before scanning the drive, there is another question.

There are two partitions on the drive. When powering up the drive, this is the screenshot of the notification for partition G:

Partition G's Properties>Tools>Error checking shows "Repair this drive".

There is no AutoPlay notification for the other partition, H. Partition H's Properties>Tools>Error checking shows "You don't need to scan this drive".

Both partitions contain only data files, and no programs or apps. In the Win10 Settings, AutoPlay is set to OFF. Why does the notification say AutoPlay?

Will the scan tell me what the errors are before fixing them?
