I have a question about word. I have a computer that runs windows 2000 and the problem is in Outlook. Okay
What happens is when word is opened by outlook I see the title of the new window is ounounounoun repeating only its the empty set sign instead of an "o" and the other letters, "u and n"
have those elipses(?) over them. If I minimize the window and then open it up again it, by way of that yellow overlay tells me the file(?) name is rpeating squares going across the screen,
    forever I suppose.

    I have tried searching for

    repeating squares
    outlook word problems
    micrsoft word squares
etc. but I do not find anything to suggest that this is a common problem but I'm hoping it is.

    Where should I look?

With Word and Outlook closed, try renaming that file to email.bad or something.

    Then relaunch Outlook...

I'm beginning to believe that the email.dot goes bad like normal.dot does.
