I am new to this forum bare with me.
I got this computer my son in law build. He installed Windows Me, but I don't have the disk. I have my windows 98 disk which I prefer. But anyway, I did a virus scan with NOD and had 40 or more viruses, most it cleaned except kernel32.dll and notepad.exe. Unfortunately I deleted a lot of files. Notepad.exe was on which I use to view source for my web pages on my web site. When I right click to view source it comes up missing notepad.exe. When I scanned with Nod it mentioned booting in Dos which I have no clue of how to do to change the kernel32.dll and copy or something like that.
Can you tell me how to make a dos boot.
Can you tell me how to replace the kernel32.dll file
They said to go to extract from I think the system file, but when I did a search/find option 100's of zip files came up and I have no clue which file to open to extract kernel32.dll and where do I replace it. Do I have to rename it and how?

Notepad.exe I really need how do I replace it and where do I put it?
The virus was W95dupator.1503

Thanks,
Cheri
