I got a computer and a monitor from a relative that recently passed away. I couldn’t figure out his password was so I held shift and clicked restart. When I clicked troubleshoot after the only things that came up were UEFI Firmware settings and Startup Settings. There was no option to restart so I don’t know how to log on. I also got a Microsoft Surface from him and it will reset but it will get to 30% and say undoing changes. I tried doing startup repair but it says I need to sign in with an administrator account and again i don’t know his password. Someone please help I’ve been searching everywhere for a week online and couldn’t find anything to help me with my issues.

I'm afraid the rules do not allow us to try and help:

We don't provide help here with a password-protected computer because we have no way to confirm ownership and/or intent for accessing it.
The same rule applies to the Microsoft laptop/tablet.

Since there's nothing we can do to help for reasons already stated I'm closing this thread.
