[Resolved] 98 only boots to DOS help!

I ran scan disk from the DOS mode overnight. This A.M. when I attempted to reboot my system it only boots to DOS. Typing exit just cycles it back to DOS again. I can start windows in the safe mode only. I sucessfully ran scan disk again and defrag from the safe mode but the problem still exists. I can run msconfig from the safe mode but don't know what to look for. What should

rename your autoexec.bat and config.sys files to autoexec.old and config.old and reboot.

Jtoast, You got me running again. My icons are large and the colors look like they are set at 16. Can I start working with it and making changes to the display or do I need to do some work now with regards to the files that were renamed?

Windows 98 doesn't really NEED the autoexec.bat and config.sys. They are used mainly to load real mode (dos) drivers for older hardware devices.
