Everytime I open IE or Netscape, I get a DLL error. Everytime I drag and drop onto my CD RW, my computer changes to a blue screen stating that the computer has halted. Every other time that I restart the system, I get a "Windows has detected an error in your registry...Windows will restart". I re-installed Windows ME several times and no luck. I tried installing Windows 2000 and it gives me the blue error screen.

I checked the RAM and I thought that one of my chips were bad, but it wasn't. The DLL errors still occured.

I checked for viruses on my HDD and also did an diagnostics check. No errors were found. The DLL errors still occured.

I checked my CPU fan and it's making a sort of squeaky noise but otherwise it's fine. The DLL errors still occured.

About my motherboard, I have an USB Optical Mouse and my USB died. I used the adapter to change from USB to PS2 and it now works. Could it be my motherboard? I have an ASUS A7V MB. Please advise. Thanks!

What exactly are the dll errors you are getting? They could be due to version conflicts.

And it is possible you could be overheating even though the fan is spinning. Sometimes more is needed.

Did you install the Via 4in1 drivers for your Asus board?

Also check your Windows Update page and look for a Hard Drive Ide Cache update.

iexplore
kernel
winsock
tormack
...are some of the errors that I get. I'll have to write down the others.

4-in-1 drivers are already installed.

I also installed the ASUS Probe off the CD and it's saying that the temp is normal.

I have all the up to date updates.

Thanks for responding Rollin' Rog!

I fixed the problem.

It was SPYWARE and thanks to AD-WARE, I was able to take it off the system.

Also, a TROJAN in which my Norton Antivirus 2002 never picked up on was on my system. I used Mcafee and found out about it. Thanks!

Great. I missed your last post, but the winsock and Iexplore errors would have sugested either an trojan or spyware and you had both
