Hey everyone,

I'm currently getting massive amounts of IM warnings from random users. Typically I will be sitting idle or away and suddenly I will get 30 or 40 IMs from different users (not in myBuddy lists & clearly computer generated). ... they all either start talk invititiaons or WARN my account...

My current settings have the chat invitiation acceptance window open when receiving IM from people not on my buddy list... apparently this does not stop users from warning you or starting talk invititians though...

The only way I can stop it is to disable the ability for users to see when Im online that are not in my buddy list... Although this method works... it does not suit my needs (i need user's not on my buddy list to be able to see me online...)

Has anybody heard of this?
Has anybody heard of a remidy to this?

Thanks for taking a look eddie.

I tried adding these users to my block list whenever they hit me.. .but they are all computer generated and use many different alias's... I must have 50 or 60 blocks... and it wasn't slowing them down...

the names would change... for example I would get hit by

Badguy0001
Badguy12435
1Badguy2344
Badguy34151

I was hoping there was some way to automate the blocking... like a random search for all cases of BADGUY...

I just scrapped the account and opened another... Too much hassle... (more than notifiying everyone of my change)

Thanks,
G

It does seem like the chat version of the Spam we get via email.

I'll mark this Resolved :)
