I'm working with a AMD K6-333 running Windows 98 SE upgrade and I having problems getting the Drive letter to show up in My Computer or Explorer. The drive works fine. In device manager the drive shows up as D: and I can access the drive by going to Start - Run - D: , this brings up the contents of the drive and I can install or copy from the drive just fine. I've tried another working cd drive and it does the same thing. I've gone into safe mode and removed the cd drives from there and restarted, but to no avail. Initially it had Win98 on it and I've upgraded to SE, by using the Start - Run - D: technique. I've also installed the DOS drivers to see if it would force a Windows drive letter, but that had no affect other than allowing the drive to work in DOS.
And ideas?
