it has only copied 15.9kb of 6.25mb,
hope this makes sense, kind regards, tanya

You may have a very bad connection, either to your ISP or to the MSN servers. You will probably have to disconnect and try reconnecting and starting over.

Hold the mouse over the computer icons near the clock to see what your connection speed is to your ISP. On dialup you should expect at least 33 kbps.

You can also try installing a download manager which will resume interrupted downloads.

One many like that does not install ad or spyware is FreshDownloads

The problem is not with your orginal connection speed then, but likely the server you are connecting to for the download. Sometimes trying at a different time of day will help. You should be getting a download speed of approximately 4k bps

Had the same problem a few days ago trying to download an antivirus update. I just put it off about 12 hours and it then downloaded normally.

Even at a slow 56K speed of 37,333 bps, your computer should be downloading MSN Messenger a lot faster than that. Have you tried downloading it from a different site?

If AOL has previously been installed in your computer, it can play havoc with your connection. It needs to be completely cleaned out.

You might take a look at my article on 56K dial-up tweaks and fixes.
