Hi Hope your Friday night is better than mine is turning out to be. The last three times I have turned on my computer I get this message that says, and I quote "the exshell.exe file is linked to missing export explutil.dll:[email protected]@[email protected]" Anybody care to clarify this please. I didn't do anything weird but now every once in a while everything either slows down or stops. Wiggles around, its like cable tv. Any ideas, it would be appreciated. I can still use my system but every once in a while it just......arghhhhhhh. Get the idea. Thanks and have a nice day

It's a reference to an Excite AtHome shell program which loads at startup. You can probably disable it without ill effect by going to start and running msconfig

Click on the Startup tab and remove the check for it.

For a permanent solution you should contact their support.

Thanks for your quick response. I just had to convert my system over because of what is happening with excite so maybe that has something to do with it. Thanks again and have a nice day:)

Which one do I uncheck? There are about 3 or 4 settings there with excite in the line.

In your case, exshell.exe, I gather from your question.

Good luck,

Thanks, there was no exshell.exe box to uncheck. I unchecked the Excite platform box and haven't seen that error message for a couple of days. Hopefully that is the end of it. Thanks again for everyones help. :p
