(Resolved) Imesh File Sharing Program

I cleaned up my computer this week using a doenloaded program called "Ad Aware" that removed all cookies etc. that was slowing down the speed of my computer. Now, when I go to launch imesh, I get an Error saying that I am missing a DLL file called CD_CLINT.DLL. I didn't back-up the delted files that Ad Aware got rid of. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hiya

imesh is spyware. Thats why the file CD_CLINT.DLL was removed, as this is a major part or spyware. Depending on the version:

5.4 = Conducent
5.5 = Cydoor

Both spyware.

This is a downloading program. Check out Filehound, GetIt, Fresh Download, Download Express

These can all be found at http://www.webattack.com if you use the Search option.

I am still not having much luck finding the missing dll to download....lots to remove it but nothing to download.....When I downloaded Fresh Start, it required the missing dll to run the program and a search of the web has not produced any results.
Help!

Whats Fresh Start? Can you give us the site where you go it? The thing is, you probably won't be able to find that file, as its spyware and most people don't want it on their system. I'll explain.

Spyware programs seem harmless. For instance, Gozilla is a great downloading program. It remembers where you were when your file download cuts off and continues at exactly the same place.
However, what you don't realise is that when you are downloading, it is sending out all the information regarding what you have downloaded and from where, back to the main site. Even the stuff that you think is private. They get around this by having ads on their software. Some software programs are safe, but if you have a firewall, you will notice a lot of activity going on.

If Fresh Start requires the same CD_CLINT.DLL, this points to Spyware once again.

If you want me to see what you have that could be spyware, go to Run and type MSINFO32. On the left choose Software Enviroment then Startup Programs. Copy/paste the list.

I went to 'Run", typed in MSINF032 and an error mesage came up saying "Cannot find the file named MSINF032 (or one of it's componants)> Urgh!

Did you use Ad-Aware to clean up the Fresh Start before using Fresh Start own uninstall.
All programs you did to first use there own uninstall and then clean them up with Ad-Aware.

If that is what you did and the Fresh Start had it's own uninstall and the file CD_CLINT.DLL is from Fresh Start then reinstall it and use it's own uninstall and them use Ad-Aware.

hewee: I think what Tracey is trying to say is that she used AddAware just to remove some cookies she had on her system. Of course, it removed the CD_CLINT.DLL as this is a spyware part. She didn't mean to, but what I was trying to tell here, is that its spyware and what it is.

Tracey: The only way you could get this back on if you really want it, is to reload the imesh program that contained the CD_CLINT.DLL and see if that helps with Fresh Start. I myself, have no spyware on my system and I don't normally recommend others to. but if you really want it, try the reinstall.

Yes I know but I was thinking Tracey used Ad-Aware first so lost the file.

Does not the new version of Ad-Aware make a backup file?

Just restore it from the back up Tracey.

I fixed it by re-installing IMESH and now, it's up and running again...I don't know much about computers!!
