First off, I want to say that I'm alive, and that I do not wish my account to be nuked. And so I hope I posted this in time. And so here's my new problem that I'd like to have some help on. My IE 6.0 loads any typical page up to 99%, and from there it "hangs" for about three full minutes before finishing the load. And during the hang, I can not do anything in IE. My computer, however, is NOT frozen, as anything besides IE runs just fine. Even using the gamespot browser ( http://www.gamespot.com ) runs just fine on the net, so it can't be my connection either. Anybody got any ideas?

[Added later: BTW it looks like there's more features in the forums. I must say thank you because there are so many useful and convenient features here. Other UBB's sure do not have features like putting up polls and such  .]

Go to start/settings/control panel/add remove programs/ scroll down to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and highlight, then click "add remove".

A window will pop up with options..click "repair Internet Explorer " let it do it's thing, then reboot and try again..keep us posted..and good luck...Rhett

Thanks for your help, but so far, I found a temporary solution before you posted. It turns out checking the enable third party extensions in the advanced tab of the internet options is causing the temporary freezing. I unchecked it, but I can't use things like Hotbar now. :( Oh well.

    Hiya

Its suspected that HotBar is full of spyware.

Go here and download AddAware www.lavasoftusa.com
Install and run, ensuring that Deep registry Scan is enabled. Remove all except any references to Web3000 or new.net. If you're unsure, copy/paste the list here.

Whilst you're there, download and install RefUpdate to get the latest updates.

    Regards

    eddie

Thank you. :) I'll check it out.

[Added later: Wow, can you say Spyware spamming? I got a huge list of spyware that has no references to web3000 or newnet. I mean, I lost count after 35.]

[Added even more later: Thank you very much. That totally fixed it. I can now check third party extensions without the temporary freezing. Feel free to lock this topic as it is SOLVED. Thank you very much. :) ]
