When I doubleclick on a link in IE6 or Outlook Express, nothing happens. To reach the website I have to rightclick on the link, select "copy shortcut" and paste to the address location. There's no obvious reason for this. Can anyone help?

You have a file association problem. Follow the steps in this article to reclaim them.

First try this method. go to Internet Options>Programs and clck on the button near the bottom labeled: Reset Web Settings
It will ask if you want to reset to the original IE defaults. Say yes.

I first tried the "Reset Web Settings" approach but nothing changed. I then tried your first suggestion (file association problem: edit path to web browser using the full file name) and, voila! it worked. Many thanks for your help.
