Can someone tell me if there is a free, simple way to clean the registry and get rid of the leftover junk files, and deleted files left over? Or a technique to tell what is needed and what it is safe to delete.

I'm just curious.....When I use my Regseeker, the same 'kinds of files' keep showing up, eg. 'file not in use' or 'path does not exist' etc. Are these files 'manufactured' over a period of time to be used once and then they become useless? There seems to be a never ending supply of them. Can I ever get a 'clean bill of health' after using the registry cleaner much like I often get with Spybot?
Thanks.
